Baseball Game Preview: Alvarado Indians vs. Kimball Knights

The Alvarado Indians will square off against the Kimball Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Kimball will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Alvarado extended their winning streak to three on April 11th. The Indians never let Venus get on the board and left with a 14-0 victory.

Meanwhile, Kimball was not the first on the board on Friday, but they got there more often. They blew past Wilmer-Hutchins 14-2. With that win, the Knights brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.

Emiliano Maldonado was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two triples, five RBI, and one run. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Matthew Ramos was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.

Kimball was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .412. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .346 or higher in four consecutive games.

Kimball is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-10 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Alvarado, their win bumped their record up to 13-9.
