The Papillion-LaVista Monarchs are taking a road trip to square off against the Millard North Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
As a matter of fact, Papillion-LaVista put up the most runs they have all season on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Omaha South a 14-0 shutout. The Monarchs have beaten the Packers the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Packers has come to flipping the script.

Brett Hoelscher tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Luke Bennett and Evan Eddie did most of the damage at the plate: Bennett went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Eddie went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave Bennett a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaxson Povich, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Papillion-LaVista always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Millard North came out on top against Burke on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run first inning. The Mustangs blew past the Bulldogs 10-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mustangs.
Brandon Berge looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched.
At the plate, Alexander Michaud was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Marcus Hankins also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Papillion-LaVista pushed their record up to 11-5 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Millard North, their record is now 12-5.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Papillion-LaVista has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Millard North struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
