The Malcolm Clippers will take on the Plattsmouth Blue Devils at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Malcolm is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9 runs per game this season.

Malcolm is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nebraska's top teams: Wahoo/Bishop Neumann, who was ranked 24th at the time (Malcolm was ranked 25th). The Clippers came out on top against the Warriors by a score of 4-1 on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Clippers in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won six in a row.

Chase Smith made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one double.

In other batting news, Brixon Meyer was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Plattsmouth's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They lost 11-1 to Ralston.

Malcolm's victory bumped their record up to 10-4. As for Plattsmouth, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-6.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Malcolm has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Plattsmouth struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Malcolm beat Plattsmouth 8-3 in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Do the Clippers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Blue Devils turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
