Softball Recap: Monument Mountain Spartans vs. Hoosac Valley Hurricanes

Monument Mountain had lost three straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped down to 3-9 to make it four. They lost 18-5 to the Hoosac Valley Hurricanes. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hurricanes this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-0 back in April.

As for Hoosac Valley, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 14-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 15.0 runs this season.

For Hoosac Valley's part, Gracelyn Wright was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She tossed six innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. Wright was also big at the plate, going 1-for-5 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
