Basketball Recap: East Central Skates Past St. Anthony with Ease

East Central put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They claimed a resounding 114-36 win over the St. Anthony Yellowjackets. For the Hornets, this counts as revenge for the 90-81 victory the Yellowjackets walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2015.

East Central's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Aiden Olivarez led the charge by almost dropping a double-double with 21 points and nine boards. Olivarez's big performance that afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 21 points. Jamel Wolford was another key player, going 6-for-13 en route to 14 points in addition to seven assists and six rebounds.

East Central smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 16 offensive boards every time they've taken the court this season.

East Central's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for St. Anthony, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.

East Central wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 75-66 victory against Alexander on the 21st. As for St. Anthony, they have also already played their next game, a 70-42 defeat against Highlands on the 21st.
