Baseball Game Preview: Hayfield Hawks vs. Alexandria City Titans

The Hayfield Hawks will challenge the Alexandria City Titans at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hayfield will be looking to extend their current 11-game winning streak.

Hayfield is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They skirted past Thomas Jefferson Science & Technology 6-5.

Quinn Snyder was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Jack Ross was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Jacob Bueno, who went 2-for-3 with one triple and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Alexandria City was able to grind out a solid victory over West Potomac on Saturday, taking the game 8-3. The win continues a trend for the Titans in their matchups with the Wolverines: they've now won six in a row.

Hayfield's victory bumped their record up to 19-5. As for Alexandria City, their win bumped their record up to 16-8.

Hayfield couldn't quite finish off Alexandria City in their previous matchup back in March and fell 8-6. Can the Hawks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
