Baseball Recap: Poston Butte Takes a Loss

Poston Butte was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 8-5 to the Deer Valley Skyhawks. The Broncos were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Skyhawks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2022.

Poston Butte saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Wyatt Albertson, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Another was Matthew Brizuela, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Poston Butte's loss dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Deer Valley, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8-1 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Poston Butte will face off against Crismon at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Deer Valley, they will take on Cactus at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
