Softball Recap: Hays Takes a Loss

Hays fell victim to Del Valle and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They fell just short of the Del Valle Cardinals by a score of 1-0. The Hawks' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Hays saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Eliana Villegas, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles. Ashlyn Galvan also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Hays' loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Del Valle, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-1-1.

Coming up, Hays will take on MacArthur in a tournament on Saturday. As for Del Valle, they will take on Floresville at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Floresville has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.6 runs per game on average), something Del Valle will no doubt try to take advantage of.
