Soccer Game Preview: Plainview vs. Amarillo

Plainview hasn't had much luck against Amarillo recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Sandies at 5:00 p.m. Plainview's defense has only allowed 0.2 goals per game this season, so Amarillo's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Plainview will bounce into Tuesday's match after beating Monterey, who they had gone 0-3 against in their three prior meetings. The Bulldogs walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Plainsmen on Friday. While Plainview didn't have the best season last year (they finished 1-15-4), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Meanwhile, Coronado kept up with Amarillo until halftime on Friday, but afterwards: not so much. The Sandies' defense stepped up to hand the Mustangs a 5-0 shutout. That five-goal margin sets a new team best for Amarillo this season.

The win made it two in a row for Amarillo and bumps their season record up to 4-2-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored seven goals over those two contests. As for Plainview, their win bumped their record up to 4-0-1.
