Everything went their way against the Evans Knights on Saturday as the Brantley County Herons made off with a 21-9 win. The result was nothing new for the Herons, who have now won four games by eight runs or more so far this season.
Brantley County let Kelsie Bishop and Brooklyn Wildes loose on the outfield. Bishop went 2-for-4 with a home run, five RBI, and two runs, while Wildes went 3-for-4 with a home run and four runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Rilee Story, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two doubles, and a run.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Brantley County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .619. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
The victory (which was Brantley County's third in a row) raised their record to 8-5. As for Evans, they dropped their record down to 5-5 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
Coincidentally, both will both be playing Greenbrier the next time they take the field. Brantley County will host Greenbrier at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, while Evans will head out to face them at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
