It was a good run, but Southwest unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 50-42 to the Pinkston Vikings. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Raiders came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 323rd, while the Vikings are ranked 737th).

Southwest's loss dropped their record down to 16-8. As for Pinkston, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-9 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southwest will challenge Diamond Hill-Jarvis at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Pinkston, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Roosevelt at 4:00 p.m.
