Basketball Game Preview: Clarke County Eagles vs. Rappahannock County

The Clarke County Eagles just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face Rappahannock County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Clarke County has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 218 points over their last three contests.

Clarke County is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 83-23 victory over Page County. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 69th, while the Panthers are ranked 301st), the result on Thursday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Rappahannock County strolled past Central Woodstock with points to spare on Wednesday, taking the game 61-43.

Clarke County's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-4. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 23.8 points per game. As for Rappahannock County, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.

Everything came up roses for Clarke County against Rappahannock County in their previous meeting two weeks ago, as the squad secured a 79-31 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Clarke County since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
