Basketball Recap: Electra Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Electra took on Archer City on Tuesday. The Electra Tigers fell 28-21 to the Archer City Wildcats. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Archer City's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Addy Peters, who posted 11 points and six rebounds. That's the most rebounds Peters has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Millie Mayo, who put up seven points.

Electra has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-11 record this season. As for Archer City, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 13-10.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Olney the next time they take the court. Archer City will head out to face Olney at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, while Electra will host them at 6:15 p.m. on January 7th.
