West Branch came tearing into Friday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29.8 points), and they left with even more momentum. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 56-6 win over the Minerva Lions. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 42-0.

It was another big night for Grady Hirst, who threw for 342 yards and five TDs while completing 81.2% of his passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Drake Stryffeler, who gained 103 total yards and two touchdowns.

West Branch's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Minerva, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-2.
