Basketball Game Preview: Grace Community Cougars vs. East Texas Homeschool Sports Chargers

The Grace Community Cougars will be taking part in a tournament against the East Texas Homeschool Sports Chargers at 10:30 a.m. on Monday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Grace Community is headed into Monday's game hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight defeats. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 43-38 heartbreaker at the hands of Elkhart. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Cougars came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 466th, while the Elks are ranked 1070th).

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, East Texas Homeschool Sports' good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell to Christian Heritage 36-30.

Grace Community's record is now 10-5. As for East Texas Homeschool Sports, their record now sits at 7-6.

Grace Community didn't have too much breathing room in their match against East Texas Homeschool Sports when the teams last played back in February of 2022, but they still walked away with a 60-56 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Grace Community since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
