Softball Recap: Corbett Comes Up Short

Corbett was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Valley Catholic Valiants, falling 13-4. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Valiants this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-4 last Tuesday.

Anabella Austinson was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Paige Denney was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Corbett's record now sits at 4-6. As for Valley Catholic, they pushed their record up to 8-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Corbett is set to challenge their familiar foe Westside Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Valley Catholic will square off against rival Warrenton at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
