Chiawana waltzed into their matchup  on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with  a   12-9  victory over the Hermiston Bulldogs. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won  16-5  on Friday.
Chiawana let  Alyssa Melendez and  Jessica Melendez run wild. Alyssa  got on base  in all four of her plate appearances with three  runs, two  RBI,  and one  double, while  Jessica  went 3-for-4 with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and two  RBI. Another player making a difference was  Chase Wirt, who  went 2-for-4 with two  RBI and one  double.
 They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Chiawana  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 12  hits. They are  a perfect 8-0 when  they post 11 or more  hits.
Chiawana pushed their record up to 11-4 with the  win, which was their fifth straight  at home. The  home  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 12.8 runs over those games. As for Hermiston,  they are  on  a  four-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 6-8.
 We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Chiawana is set to  square off against  their familiar foe Kennewick  at 5:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Hermiston will  take on  rival Richland  at 5:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
