Volleyball Recap: Wilmington Comes Up Short

Wilmington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to the Wakefield Memorial Warriors. If the Wildcats were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Warriors when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

While Wilmington was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Wakefield Memorial's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-7, 25-8, 25-12.

Wakefield Memorial found their leader in freshman Brynn Fortier, who had six assists and four aces.

Wilmington's defeat dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Wakefield Memorial, their win was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-3.

Coming up, Wilmington will challenge Woburn Memorial at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Wakefield Memorial, they will take on Wayland at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
