League recap: Magee gets lift from Luckey's big bat

4A Region 6 league recap: 3/13/13

Nick Luckey was on fire this week, as he led 4A Region 6 with a .400 average, two home runs and 11 RBIs. Magee went 3-0.

Mendenhall's Austin Odom was the best pitcher in the league this week. He picked up one win and 12 strikeouts.

The Trojans' pitching was especially stingy this week, allowing 12 hits and three walks to lead the league in both categories.

Germantown, the league's stolen base leader this season with 39, added to its lead in that category with 18 more steals over the past week.

15 batters hit over .400 this week. They were led by Julius Craft, who hit .583 this week (7-for-12).

With 11 runs batted in this week, Magee's Luckey increased his league-leading total in that category to 19.



Dakota Bryant struck out 12 in the Trojans' 13-1 win over Raymond on March 8. Over his five innings pitched he allowed one run on five hits.

Luckey drove in four runners as Magee defeated the Rangers 13-1 on Friday. He went 1-for-3 and scored one run.
