Baseball Game Preview: Seymour Wildcats vs. Ansonia Chargers

The Seymour Wildcats will challenge the Ansonia Chargers at 3:45 p.m. on Friday.

Seymour is headed into the matchup having just suffered their biggest loss since May 18, 2024 on Wednesday. They lost 12-2 to Woodland Regional. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Hawks recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ansonia). They put the hurt on Waterbury Career Academy with a sharp 17-1 win on Wednesday. The Chargers have beaten the Spartans the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Spartans has come to flipping the script.

Ansonia's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Seymour, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.

Seymour skirted past Ansonia 6-5 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Chargers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
