Baseball Recap: Cheatham County Central Takes a Loss

Cheatham County Central managed to slip by Stewart County the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Cubs came up short against the Rebels on Thursday, falling 23-12. The Cubs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rebels apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2016.

Clinton Canada and Lucas Hannah did some serious damage despite the final result: Canada scored two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances, while Hannah scored five runs and stole two bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Canada also put up three RBI, which were his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Cameron Canada, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

Cheatham County Central's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Stewart County, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season.

Cheatham County Central is taking a road trip to square off against East Hickman County at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Stewart County, they will square off against Trigg County at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
