Softball Recap: Friday's Win Is Marian Catholic's Tenth in Last 13 Outings

It's playoff time, and Marian Catholic had no trouble coming through when it counted. They blew past the Shenandoah Valley Blue Devils 14-3 on Friday. Marian Catholic might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 games by seven runs or more this season.

Marian Catholic let Gracie Sendatch and Zoe Katona run wild. Sendatch went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI, while Katona went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases Katona has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Hailey Treskolasky, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Marian Catholic has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for Shenandoah Valley, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-17.

Looking ahead, Marian Catholic will face off against Tri-Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Marian Catholic's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 9.5 runs per game this season. Shenandoah Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
