Bear River triumphant thanks to a strong effort from Angelie Delgado

Recap: Bear River Bears vs. Uintah Utes

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Herriman, the Bear River Bears were happy to have found some success on Friday. They came out on top against Uintah by a score of 39-27. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Bear River also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2020.

Angelie Delgado was the offensive standout of the contest as she went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 20 points and 2 assists. She continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Saydee Pebley was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with seven rebounds and four blocks.

Several Utes players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Charlee Gilroy, who scored five points along with nine rebounds and four steals. Gilroy is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played.

Even though they lost, Uintah smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bear River only pulled down three offensive rebounds.

Bear River's win bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Uintah, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.

Bear River will head out on the road to challenge Sky View at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Uintah, they will be playing at home against Mountain View at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Mountain View is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.
