Basketball Recap: Saint Thomas More Academy Falls to South Bend Saint Joseph in First Game of Season

Saint Thomas More Academy had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They were outmatched by the South Bend Saint Joseph Huskies and fell 78-27.

South Bend Saint Joseph found their leader in freshman Arianna Rowell, who went 11-for-15 en route to 29 points and four steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Rowell has scored at least a third of the Huskies' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lauren Hickey, who shot 60% from the field to rack up 15 points.

The win made it two in a row for South Bend Saint Joseph and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Coming up, Saint Thomas More Academy will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Lakeland Christian Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for South Bend Saint Joseph, they will welcome New Prairie at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The contest will give the Huskies their first taste of in-conference action this season.
