Pender comes up short despite Cyrus Page's dominant performance

Recap: Pender Patriots vs. Wallace-Rose Hill Bulldogs

The Pender Patriots's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 70-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wallace-Rose Hill. Pender has not had much luck with Wallace-Rose Hill recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Despite the loss, Pender still got an impressive performance from Cyrus Page, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jordan Hansley, who scored 14 points.

Wallace-Rose Hill was led to victory by Irving Brown and Jamarae Lamb. Brown scored 13 points, while Lamb scored 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Amir Moore, who scored nine points.

Pender's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Wallace-Rose Hill, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pender will challenge West Columbus at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. West Columbus will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Wallace-Rose Hill, they will head out on the road to challenge Kinston at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Kinston's favor as the team sits on seven straight wins at home while Wallace-Rose Hill has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
