Football Recap: Green Valley Falls Despite Big Games from Evan Williams and Michael Lewis + How To Watch

Green Valley had lost four straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 3-4 to make it five. They came up short against the Arbor View Aggies, falling 42-17. The Gators lost against the Aggies in their previous head to head back in October of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 59-0 score last time.

Green Valley's loss came despite strong showings from Michael Lewis and Evan Williams. Lewis threw for 222 yards and one TD, while Williams picked up 125 receiving yards and one touchdown.

As for Arbor View, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-3. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by 25 points or more this season.

Thaddeus Thatcher was his usual excellent self, rushing for 76 yards and one score, while also throwing for 148 yards and a pair of TDs. His passing game has become a key predictor of Arbor View's success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 0-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Zac Fares, who gained 41 total yards and two touchdowns.

Green Valley has already played their next matchup, a 31-19 victory against Canyon Springs on the 17th. As for Arbor View, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 56-55 win against Desert Pines on the 17th.
