Basketball Recap: Scott Skyhawks vs. Hoover Huskies

The Scott Skyhawks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight defeat. They fell to Hoover 51-46. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Scott in their matchups with the Huskies: they've now lost nine in a row.

Despite the loss, Scott still got an impressive performance from Haven Tomblin, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds. That was a full 34.8% of Scott's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Kelsey Harper, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and two blocks.

Hoover's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Natilee Hill, who scored 13 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hill has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Haas, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds.

Scott has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. As for Hoover, their victory bumped their record up to 3-10.

Scott will be playing in front of their home fans against the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Lincoln County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 32 on Thursday. As for Hoover, they will head out on the road to square off against the Minutemen at 2:45 p.m. on Saturday. Lewis County will be looking to keep their seven-game home win streak alive.
