Softball Recap: Half Moon Bay Comes Up Short

Half Moon Bay's last matchup with Menlo-Atherton could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's match on Wednesday. The Cougars lost 11-1 to the Bears. The Cougars have struggled against the Bears recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Half Moon Bay saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mariah Deeney, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

Half Moon Bay now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Menlo-Atherton, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.

Half Moon Bay will face off against Sequoia at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Cougars are facing the Ravens at the right time seeing as the Ravens are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Menlo-Atherton, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Notre Dame at 4:00 p.m. on the 15th.
