Union City hasn't had much luck against Eisenhower recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Union City Bears will head out to face off against the Eisenhower Knights at 7:00 p.m.

Union City is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their ninth straight game dating back to last season on Friday. They took a 21-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of Saegertown. One positive for the Bears, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Union City's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Matt Eliason, who rushed for 21 yards and a touchdown, and Jj Karmazin, who picked up 30 receiving yards and a touchdown. An impressive showing, but Karmazin really ramped things up playing D: he forced a fumble, made three total tackles, and made three total tackles in addition to snagging an interception. Union City also got a significant boost from Austin Brown, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 100 yards.

Union City wouldn't let Saegertown keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Union City can thank Steven Klakamp and Karmazin for forcing both of them. Union City got some further help from Hunter Michael: he picked up a sack and made eight total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Meanwhile, while Eisenhower put up some points on Friday, the same can't be said for Cochranton. Eisenhower claimed a resounding 27-0 win over Cochranton at home. The game marked the Knights' most dominant victory of the season so far.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Eisenhower's defense and their three sacks. Leading the way was Gavin Lindemuth with two.

Union City's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Eisenhower, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Union City might still be hurting after the 34-13 loss they got from Eisenhower in their previous meeting back in September of 2023. Thankfully for Union City, Shawn Pascuzzi (who rushed for 105 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries, and also threw for 78 yards and two touchdowns) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
