Softball Recap: St. Anthony Comes Up Short

St. Anthony entered their match against Charleston on Wednesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Bulldogs fell 8-4 to the Trojans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-1 back in March.

Julia Schultz made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as she's now launched at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Ady Rios, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

St. Anthony's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Charleston, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Anthony will challenge Glenwood at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Titans will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something the Bulldogs surely won't give up without a fight. As for Charleston, they will head out on the road to take on Centennial at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
