Softball Recap: Fabens Wildcats vs. Clint Lions
Fabens was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They fell victim to a rough 27-1 loss at the hands of the Clint Lions. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Fabens of the 16-3 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2023.
For Clint's part, Anabella Portillo was a standout: she scored three runs and stole five bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Portillo hasn't dropped below two stolen bases for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenni Giraud, who scored four runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-4.
Fabens' loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Clint, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-14.
