Volleyball Recap: Columbus East Takes a Loss

Columbus East had taken Bedford North Lawrence down for three straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Tuesday. The Olympians fell 3-1 to the Stars. The Olympians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

While Columbus East ultimately came up short, they really made Bedford North Lawrence work, particularly in the fourth set. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-21, 16-25, 26-24.

Lilah Klei paced Columbus East's offense, picking up 14 kills. Klei got some help from Payten Osborn and her 22 assists. Osborn was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Columbus East's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 10-12. As for Bedford North Lawrence, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-7.

Columbus East wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against New Albany on the 18th. Bedford North Lawrence has also already played their next game (against Shoals), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
