Baseball Recap: Vestaburg Comes Up Short

Vestaburg was the 5-2 winner over Breckenridge when they last played one another on Monday, but their luck changed this time around. The Wolverines fell just short of the Huskies by a score of 4-3 on Monday.

Keegan Beetley was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, earning two runs and one stolen base.

Beetley wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Colton Halgren, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases.

Vestaburg has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-10-1 record this season. As for Breckenridge, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-12-2.
