Basketball Game Preview: Joseph City Wildcats vs. Anthem Prep Eagles

The Joseph City Wildcats will take on the Anthem Prep Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Joseph City knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 12 contests -- so hopefully Anthem Prep likes a good challenge.

Joseph City is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Dishchii'bikoh with a sharp 80-55 victory. The win continues a trend for Joseph City in their matchups with Dishchii'bikoh: they've now won six in a row.

Eli James was his usual excellent self, going 14-for-21 en route to 30 points and three steals. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Heston Miller, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 11 boards.

Joseph City was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Anthem Prep waltzed into their match two weeks ago with five straight wins... but they left with six. They took down the Frogs 52-36.

Anthem Prep's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.3 points over those games. As for Joseph City, their win bumped their record up to 26-6.
