Washington proved they can win big last Wednesday (they won by 13) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Kennedy Titans 3-2. The win continues a trend for the Huskies in their matchups with the Titans: they've now won eight in a row.

Washington pushed their record up to 7-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Kennedy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-8.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Washington is set to challenge their familiar foe Moreau Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Huskies 3.5, the Mariners 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Kennedy will take on rival Irvington at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
