Softball Game Preview: North White Vikings vs. Faith Christian Eagles

North White is on a four-game streak of home losses, and Faith Christian a nine-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Tuesday. The North White Vikings will host the Faith Christian Eagles at 5:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

North White is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 18 runs on Friday, they were much more limited against Pioneer on Monday. They lost 13-2 to the Panthers.

North White saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaylyn Applegate, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one run. Faythe Stewart also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Faith Christian duked it out with Frontier on Monday. The Eagles came up short against the Falcons, falling 18-1.

Faith Christian's loss dropped their record down to 1-15. As for North White, they now have a losing record of 9-10.

North White's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's game. The Vikings have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.8 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Faith Christian, though, as they've been averaging only 0.5 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will North White continue to outrun the ball?

Everything went North White's way against Faith Christian when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as North White made off with an 11-0 victory. Will the Vikings repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
