Baseball Game Preview: Gorham Fayette Eagles vs. Emmanuel Christian Warriors

The Gorham Fayette Eagles will face off against the Emmanuel Christian Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Gorham Fayette has given up an average of 14.6 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Caleb Lerma made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and one RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Meanwhile, Emmanuel Christian hadn't done well against Cardinal Stritch recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Warriors never let the Cardinals get on the board and left with a 5-0 victory.

The result came thanks to Sam Kutz's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up ten Ks.

On the hitting side, Tim Sherban was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Sherban, who earned one run and two stolen bases.

Gorham Fayette's defeat was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Emmanuel Christian, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-7.
