Football Recap: Deer Lakes Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Deer Lakes extended their losing streak to six on Friday, dropping them down to 1-6. They took a blow against the Beaver Bobcats, falling 45-7. The Lancers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-0.

As for Beaver, they now have a winning record of 4-3. The final result isn't all that surprising considering their considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 149th, while Deer Lakes is ranked 447th).

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Avery Scales and Jonah Justice. Scales rushed for 90 yards and one touchdown on only nine carries while Justice rushed for 91 yards and one score. Those 90 rushing yards gave Scales a new career-high. Micah Pupi was in the mix too, providing Beaver with two TDs.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Deer Lakes will take on Imani Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Saints' defense has only allowed 5.4 points per game this season, so the Lancers' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Beaver, they will face off against North Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
