Volleyball Game Preview: Van Alstyne Panthers vs. Lake Dallas Falcons

The Van Alstyne Panthers will venture away from home to square off against the Lake Dallas Falcons at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Tuesday, Van Alstyne came up short against Aubrey and fell 3-1.

Van Alstyne started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 22-25, 25-17, 25-10, 25-20.

Meanwhile, Lake Dallas was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Panther Creek.

Lake Dallas took Panther Creek into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking three-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-11, 25-16, 19-25, 15-12.

Van Alstyne's defeat dropped their record down to 21-10. As for Lake Dallas, their loss dropped their record down to 9-12.

Van Alstyne was able to grind out a solid victory over Lake Dallas in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, winning 3-1. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Falcons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
