Basketball Recap: Hennessy Livingston and Ty'kristiany Jones Secure Win for Telfair County

Telfair County had to skate by with only a two-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 26-point drubbing they dealt Montgomery County on Saturday. The Telfair County Trojans put the hurt on the Montgomery County Eagles with a sharp 57-31 victory. The Trojans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 26 points or more this season.

Leading Telfair County to victory were Ty'Kristiany Jones and Hennessy Livingston. Jones went 7 of 17 en route to 20 points and seven steals, while Livingston posted 14 points in addition to eight steals and five boards. Livingston continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Passion Clay, who put up four points and eight steals.

Telfair County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 11 consecutive matches dating back to last season.

Despite the loss, Montgomery County had strong showings from Erin Adams, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds, and Dekimber Wright, who scored no points and seven boards. Adams continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Kaitlyn Powell also deserves some recognition as she scored her first point of the season.

Telfair County's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-1. As for Montgomery County, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-11 record this season.

Telfair County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 61-40 victory against Hawkinsville on the 7th. As for Montgomery County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 57-24 defeat against Citizens Christian Academy on the 6th.
