Basketball Recap: Bryan Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Bryan kicked off their season on the road on Thursday and hit a couple of potholes. They were beaten by the Omaha North Vikings 87-48. The Bears were down 72-37 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Bryan lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jayden Joseph, who posted 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Keyon Williams, who earned ten points.

Leading Omaha North to victory were Mar'Kese Pope and Dontae McDowell. Pope shot 79% from the field en route to 26 points and seven rebounds, while McDowell went 10-for-13 to rack up 22 points in addition to six boards and three steals. That's the most boards Pope has posted since back in January. Another player making a difference was Akol Agau, who had seven points and ten rebounds.

Bryan didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, an 81-31 loss against Burke on the 6th. As for Omaha North, they have also already played their next game, a 61-46 defeat against Omaha Central on the 6th.
