Baseball Recap: Commerce Comes Up Short

After soaring to 14 runs the game before, Commerce was a bit more limited in their matchup on Thursday. They came up short against Malakoff, falling 12-1.

Commerce saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Colton Alderman, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Kentrell Greer also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Commerce has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-10-1 record this season. As for Malakoff, they pushed their record up to 10-4-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Commerce will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Rains at 7:00 p.m. on April 7. As for Malakoff, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 4-2 win against Axtell on the 21st.
