Soccer Recap: American Takes a Loss

American pushed their score to eight the last time they played Mission San Jose, but on Wednesday they couldn't quite do it again. The American Eagles fell just short of the Mission San Jose Warriors by a score of 1-0. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February.

This is the second loss in a row for American and nudges their season record down to 0-6-1. As for Mission San Jose, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. American will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Hayward at 12:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. As for Mission San Jose, they will head out on the road to face off against Lynbrook at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mission San Jose's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.
