It was a good run, but Placer unfortunately witnessed the end of their 11-game winning streak on Wednesday. They were outmatched by the Yuba City Honkers and fell 50-22. The Hillmen were red-hot offensively headed into the match (they scored no less than 55 points in the 14 games prior) but the Honkers' defense proved too tough.

Placer's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 18-3. As for Yuba City, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-13.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Placer beat Yuba City by a score of 65-41 on Thursday.
