Basketball Recap: Hoover Comes Up Short

Hoover was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. 2026 welcomed they with an 85-65 loss courtesy of the Newton Cardinals. If the Huskies were looking for revenge after losing 45-43 to the Cardinals when the teams met back in January of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Hoover's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Newton, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Hoover will venture away from home to face off against Lincoln at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Newton, they will challenge Pella Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
