Baseball Game Preview: Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms vs. Waterville-Elysian-Morristown Buccaneers

The Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms will venture away from home to challenge the Waterville-Elysian-Morristown Buccaneers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Blooming Prairie is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.

On Saturday, Blooming Prairie didn't have quite enough to beat Lyle/Pacelli and fell 2-1.

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Thursday as neither Waterville-Elysian-Morristown nor Medford made it on the board until the sixth inning. The Buccaneers walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Tigers. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Buccaneers as it put an end to their seven-game losing streak.

Waterville-Elysian-Morristown let Brady Murphy and Jackson Dahl run wild. Murphy went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI, while Dahl got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI. That double marked the first that Murphy has hit this season.

Waterville-Elysian-Morristown's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-11. As for Blooming Prairie, their loss dropped their record down to 10-4.

Blooming Prairie took their win against Waterville-Elysian-Morristown in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 12-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Awesome Blossoms since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
