Baseball Recap: Dwight's Run of Three Straight Victories Now Over

If Dwight was feeling good fresh off their 8-0 takedown of Putnam County on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Trojans took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers on Tuesday. The Trojans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won 8-0.

With the loss, Dwight broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-7. As for Putnam County, their victory bumped their record up to 15-3.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Dwight will square off against rival Seneca at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Putnam County is set to take on their familiar foe Roanoke-Benson/Lowpoint-Washburn at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Panthers 3.3, the Rockets 4.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
