If Des Moines East were riding high off their 27-0 takedown of Roosevelt two weeks ago, that ride came to an abrupt end. Des Moines East took a hard 25-40 fall against Southeast Polk.
Meanwhile, Ames were able to grind out a solid victory over Marshalltown last week, winning 21-13. The success made it back-to-back wins for Ames.
Ames's win lifted them to 2-2 while Des Moines East's loss dropped them down to 2-2. We'll find out if Ames can add another positive mark to their record or if Des Moines East can shake off the defeat and take the spring out of Ames's step.
