Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Eric Rojas Martell and Joshua Jimenez Lead Dunnellon to Victory

Dunnellon won the last time they faced Lake Weir and things went their way on Monday too. The Tigers walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Hurricanes. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.

While Dunnellon might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Lake Weir scored at least 19 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 24-26, 25-20, 25-22.

Leading Dunnellon to victory were Joshua Jimenez and Eric Rojas Martell. Jimenez had seven digs and five aces, while Rojas Martell had 17 digs and one assist. Those seven digs gave Jimenez a new career-high. Brent Casey also deserves some recognition as he had his first dig of the season.

They weren't the only good server: Dunnellon was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. They are 2-1 when they serve at least ten aces.

Dunnellon's win bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Lake Weir, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.

Coming up, Dunnellon will welcome Forest at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Lake Weir, they are taking a road trip to take on Belleview at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
