Softball Game Preview: Canton Central Catholic Crusaders vs. Windham Bombers

The Canton Central Catholic Crusaders will face off against the Windham Bombers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Canton Central Catholic is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.

Canton Central Catholic took a 17-run loss the last time they faced off against Ellet, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Crusaders beat the Orangement on Friday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 4-2.

Chalker hit Windham with a four-run seventh inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Bombers took a 9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats.

Lillian Pesa-Garrett spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and six unearned) runs on eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Brielle Jones was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Kierrah Sanders, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and one run.

Canton Central Catholic now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Windham, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-8.

Everything went Canton Central Catholic's way against Windham in their previous matchup two weeks ago, as Canton Central Catholic made off with a 13-1 win. Do the Crusaders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bombers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
